Anita
Anita invites you to keep an open heart and mind and be willing to expand into yourself and discover the divine potential within you. You are a gift.
Anita’s yoga journey began in the 90s with a dedicated personal practice to balance an active outdoor recreational lifestyle. In 2010, while pregnant with her second child, she and her husband decided they needed a life change and made the decision to move from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to Tempe, Arizona. Once life felt more settled in a new place with a new baby, she knew in her heart that going back to her graphic designer profession of 25 years was not a fulfilling option anymore. She wanted to shift into wellness but was unsure of what that looked like. Her primary focus was on being a mom to two kids, so she decided to allow whatever was meant for her to simply show up. And it did. That’s how a yoga teacher training found Anita. She was looking for a yoga studio to reignite her practice, and a friend recommended one to her. When she arrived for her first class, the lobby was displaying a large banner advertising a 200Hr Yoga Teacher Training starting in the fall. It was a loud and clear message of what her next journey was going to be. She obtained her 200Hr YTT in 2013 with Inner Vision Yoga in Tempe.
One training led to another. Currently, she is a registered and certified yoga teacher, a continuing education provider, a medical reiki practitioner and teacher, a medical qigong teacher, and a certified wellness practitioner. She founded Be Divine Body and Mind to provide safe, practical, and accessible wellness and movement methods. Most of us feel stressed and overwhelmed much of the time, and we carry around powerful emotional beliefs. It’s important to take time to receive a healing practice to calm your mind and body. She is currently in the process of becoming a Wellness Coach and is also taking a class focusing on the theory and technology of Lymphatic Enhancement Technology Therapy, methods for providing an effective treatment for the lymphatic system.
Her yoga toolbox is simple: meditation, relaxation, mindfulness, yoga, pranayama, and deep listening to achieve an “instant pause and reset” technique that can be done anywhere, anytime you need it. The goal is to move away from trying to “achieve” and move into a space of having an “experience.” Each movement is an opportunity to practice paying attention to your body in an open and nourishing way. Listen, just as your breath meets you, meet yourself. She encourages growth and discovery in your practice at your own pace and to have fun, one breath at a time.
Her own journey and practice have taught her how to pay close attention to her body, mind, and heart to allow for her own healing and self-growth while recovering from injuries, illness, trauma, and grief. We all need nurturing support; we deserve it. “Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” – The Bhagavad Gita
